Beyond the Pale Brewing is a Canadian Craft Brewery located in the heart of Ottawa, Ontario, and was founded by Shane Clarke, Rob McIsaac, and Al Clarke in 2012.
Beyond the Pale Brewing is well known for its exceptional, high-quality craft beers and family-focused atmosphere. In the past ten years, the brewery has gained a reputation for experimenting with different ingredients and brewing techniques while pushing the boundaries and developing a wide range of traditional and non-traditional beers.
The brew team enjoys introducing limited-edition beers and experimental brews to help showcase their creativity and skill. Over the years, Beyond the Pale Brewery has experienced healthy growth and is expanding its distribution beyond the Ottawa region.
Beyond the Pale participates in local community activities and events, to help foster a sense of community around their brewery and beers.
All Hands on Deck and MobilBid
All Hands on Deck – as in skateboard deck – is a unique fundraising event, now in its fifth year, and the brainchild of well-known Ottawa artist, Daniel Martelock.
This event promoted and sponsored by Beyond the Pale, has become one of Ottawa’s favourite fundraisers. This popular event begins with each participating artist purchasing a deck or two from the brewery, then having six weeks to decorate the deck or decks.
The artists bring the decks to life through a wide range of creative designs. The finished decks are then returned to the brewery to become part of an impressive, creative public display within the premises.
The decks are sold through a silent auction. This year, a record 236 decorated decks were prepared and featured in a colourful online silent auction from May 23 to June 4, 2023.
The 2023 auction was in support of Ottawa charity Operation Come Home celebrating 50 years of helping homeless youth from becoming homeless adults.
For the silent auction portion of the event, Beyond the Pale, after testing other media, chose the MobilBid platform to build and manage the silent auction. Through the use of MobilBid’s easy-to-use user interface, they were able to have their smoothest auction to date.
